Priscilla Mvana

Corporate Governance Officer

Priscilla Mvana is the Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) of the Mine Health and Safety Council. Prior to this role she was the Group Risk Manager at the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency she has also held various management positions within the private and public sector.

Priscilla is passionate about corporate governance having started her career in internal auditing followed by several years of consulting and thereafter risk management. Her career in governance spans over 15 years. She has worked as both a consultant and an official in different spheres of government focusing mainly on governance related functions. Priscilla relishes the idea of being able to deliver services to the marginalised professionally and timeously within the confines of good governance.

Her strengths include consistency, harmony, learner, connectedness, and intellection which together with the values of the MHSC(PRIDE) she hopes will go a long way to fulfilling her role and responsibilities.

Her interest in the mining sector is conjured by the role the mining sector plays in the economy together with the related occupational risks that if unchecked may lead to disastrous outcomes for investors, employees and the country. During her tenure at MHSC Priscilla hopes to take governance to another level whilst learning and understanding intricacies of the sector and occupational health and safety industry. Priscilla holds a post graduate diploma in internal audit and is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in risk management with Unisa. She has also completed the CCSA programme with the Institute of Internal Auditors. Priscilla has also completed the Gallup Executive Management Programme.
